The .DLL and .EXE files used by WMI are located in %windir%\system32\wbem. You might need to re-register all the .DLL and .EXE files in this directory. If you are running a 64-bit system you might also need to check for .DLLs and .EXE files in %windir%\sysWOW64\wbem.

To re-register the WMI components, run the following commands at the command prompt:

• cd /d %windir%\system32\wbem
• for %i in (*.dll) do RegSvr32 -s %i
• for %i in (*.exe) do %i /RegServer

Installation Oracle Express ubuntu

Installing Oracle on Debian is fairly easy, since Oracle has created a Debian repository, so it is possible to download and install the Oracle database software using apt-get and aptitude.

Howto use the Oracle Debian Repository:

Add the following lines to the /etc/apt/sources.list

# Oracle Repository
deb http://oss.oracle.com/debian unstable main non-free
wget http://oss.oracle.com/el4/RPM-GPG-KEY-oracle -O- | sudo apt-key add -

Update the package repository database with:

cc@ray:~$ sudo apt-get update

Now you should be able to install the following Oracle software:

Install the Oracle Express packages

sudo aptitude install oracle-xe oracle-xe-client

Configure using:

sudo /etc/init.d/oracle-xe configure

Access the nice Oracle web interface by pointing your Firefox to:

The installation process might report that the Oracle packages are not gpg signed, but you should be able to install the packages anyway.

You can avoid this report by added the Oracle gpg-public key to your apt-key chain

IAS läßt sich nicht starten

IAS lässt sich nicht starten.
Lösungsansatz:

1. stop DNS service

2. change the regedit
Die Portranges 1812-1813 und 1645-1646 in der regedit unter dem folgenden Schlüßel
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\ReservedPorts

3. start IAS Service

4. start DNS Service

vmware mehr als 256 GB bereitstellen (bei einer Blockgröße von 1MB)

wir hatten das Problem, dass wir auf einem NFS Server nur einzelne Platten mit einer maximalen Größe a 256 GB hinzufügen konnten. Somit mussten wir auf dem CentOS Server eine volumegroup definieren der aus mehreren Platten besteht. D.h. wir haben fünf 252 GB Platten zu einer großen Volumengroup.

Andere Lösung wäre gewesen die Blockgröße auf der Hostmaschine auf eine Blockgröße von 8 MB zu setzen somit hätten wir der VM bis zu 2TB zuweisen können.

Danach konnte der Pfad der Datei in die /etc/exports hinzugefügt werden.

pvcreate - initialize a disk or partition for use by LVM

SYNOPSIS

pvcreate [-d|--debug] [-f[f]|--force [--force]] [-y|--yes] [-h|--help] [-v|--verbose] [-V|--version]
PhysicalVolume...]

DESCRIPTION
pvcreate initializes for later use by the Logical Volume Manager (LVM). Each can be a disk partition, whole disk, meta device, or loopback file. For DOS disk partitions, the partition id must be set to 0x8e using fdisk(8), cfdisk(8), or a equivalent. For whole disk devices only the partition table must be erased, which will effectively destroy all data on that disk. This can be done by zeroing the first sector with:

dd if=/dev/zero of= bs=512 count=1

Continue with vgcreate(8) to create a new volume group on, or vgextend(8) to add to an existing volume group.

OPTIONS

-d, --debug

Enables additional debugging output (if compiled with DEBUG).

-f, --force

Force the creation without any confirmation. You can not recreate (reinitialize) a physical volume belonging to an existing volume group. In an emergency you can override this behaviour with -ff. In no case case can you initialize an active physical volume with this command.

-s, --size

Overrides the size of the physical volume which is normally retrieved. Useful in rare case where this value is wrong. More useful to fake large physical volumes of up to 2 Terabyes - 1 Kilobyte on smaller devices for testing purposes only where no real access to data in created logical volumes is needed. If you wish to create the supported maximum, use "pvcreate -s 2147483647k PhysicalVolume [PhysicalVolume ...]". All other LVM tools will use this size with the exception of lvmdiskscan(8)

-y, --yes

Answer yes to all questions.

-h, --help

Print a usage message on standard output and exit successfully.

-v, --verbose

Gives verbose runtime information about pvcreate's activities.

-V, --version

Print the version number on standard output and exit successfully.

Linux klonen mit rsync

Ich habe mir eine neue -- größere, schnellere, etc -- SATA-Platte geleistet.

Nun ist das bei einem anständigen Betriebsystem kein Grund, dass man dasselbe neu installieren muss.

Aus diesem Grund möchte ich die alte Platte auf die neue kopieren.

Am einfachsten geht natürlich sowas mit "dd if=/dev/alte-platte of=/dev/neue-platte". Diesmal jedoch -- damits nicht so langweilig ist -- möchte ich noch ein Feature oben drauf packen:

Ich möchte noch gleichzeitig das Dateisystem wechseln: Aus diversen Gründen bin ich mit reiserfs nicht ganz so zufrieden, so dass ich gerne auf ext3 umsteigen möchte. Zusätzlichx ist die neue Platte größer, und da ich kein LVM verwendet habe ist dd hier nicht so optimal.

Ich hab das ganze von einer gebooteten Knoppix gemacht, damit sich an den Daten auch ja nix fehlt. Wer ein wenig mutiger ist, kann das ganze natürlich auch aus dem "normalen" System machen, sollte aber zur Sicherheit in den Single User Mode wechslen (mit init 1). Ich empfehls nicht.

Jetzt zum How-To:

WARNUNG: Erst denken dann tippen! Ein falscher Buchstabe macht alle Daten platt! Die Beispiele sind für meinen Rechner ok, für andere kann es zum Disaster führen. Vorallem Partionsnamen prüfen! Für Tippfehler keine Haftung!

1. neue Platte partitionieren (z.B mit fdisk). Für den weiteren Artikel: /dev/sda3 ist meine neue Partition, /dev/hda3 die alte.

2. Filesystem erstellen:

mkfs.ext3 -j -m1 /dev/sda3

3. Filesysteme mounten. (Nur aus paranoiden Gründen mounte ich "alt" read-only)

mkdir /mnt/alt ; mount -o ro /dev/hdb3 /mnt/alt
mkdir /mnt/neu ; mount /dev/sda3 /mnt/neu

4. Jetzt kann der Spass losgehen: "lost+found", "proc", "mnt" und "sys" sollte man nicht kopieren. (tmp braucht man normalerweise nicht kopieren, man sollte aber das Verzeichnis erstellen und die richtigen Rechte zuweisen. Bequemlichkeitshalber lass ich es mal mit synchronisieren...)

rsync -aH --stats --progress --exclude=/lost+found --exclude="mnt" --exclude=/sys --exclude=/proc /mnt/alt/ /mnt/neu

Der"/" nach /mnt/alt ist notwendig, sonst macht rsync ein weiteres Verzeichnis auf, was man nicht will.

Alternativ zu den ganzen excludes kann auch die rsync-Option "--one-file-system" helfen. Die sorgt dann dafür, dass nicht auf ein anderes Dateisystem gewechselt wird, wie z.b proc (procfs), und eventuell andere gemountete Dateisysteme. Dies habe ich aber nicht ausprobiert, sondern nur in der man page von rsync gesehen.

5. Nach einen oder drei Kaffee ist rsync dann fertig. Jetzt muss man noch dafür sorgen, dass man auch von der neuen Platte booten kann. Hier die Schritte, die bei mir notwendig waren: Der Bequemlichkeithalber hab ich auf die neue Platte gechrooted, so dass sich alle Pfade auf die neue Installation beziehen. Bei der Gelegenheit kann man auch gleich noch ein paar Verzeichnisse erstellen, und auch proc und sys mounten.

chroot /mnt/neu
mkdir -p /proc /sys /tmp /mnt /boot
mount -t proc proc /proc
mount -t sysfs sysfs /sys


7. /etc/fstab anpassen. Das neue root ist "dev/sda3", damit Linux auch weiss, wo "/" ist.

8. grub auf der neuen Platte installiern:

grub-install /dev/sda

9. neu booten.
10. neues System geniessen.
